We had a great day with Kingston Scouts Canoe Club today, taking Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers out on the water, followed by a BBQ run by some of our amazing parents.
Every now and then we have a child who can’t move from Beavers to Cubs or Cubs to Scouts, due to the nights of the week we have our meetings. The information of what groups meet when is all available on the web, but I thought I’d try and bring it together for reference.
The details below are all correct as of July 2014 and include any Groups in the Royal Kingston District that I could easily find details for on their websites.
* also meet on Saturday mornings
Please note that the above table does not represent all groups in the Royal Kingston District, only the sections I could easily find information for on their websites. For a full list of groups please visit the Royal Kingston District website.
We had a really great St George’s Day parade on the 27th April with a service run by an Explorer Unit and a parade along Ewell Road in Tolworth. We even managed to stay dry throughout. The best part of the event for Chessington however was in us winning the Bridger Family Trophy for the smartest Group on parade! Over 1200 children and adults took part from over 18 Groups in the District. All the Leaders are very proud of the excellent behaviour and smart appearance of all of our Cubs, Beavers and Scouts. Thank you!
Here are the section meeting dates for the Autumn term. We also have the additional following non-section meeting dates:
Sunday 6th October – Harvest Festival church parade
Sunday 10th November – Remembrance Sunday service

On the 19th Dec 2012 we went to Charrington Bowl as a Group. It’s the first Group outing we’ve had in a long time. In all across the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts we had 39 attend, along with around 15 leaders and parents! Although we had two games lined up, only the Scouts managed to complete the games to the two hours we had booked!
This was also the last meeting that Amelia attended as our Beaver Scout Leader so we had a short presentation at the end of the night to say thank you for all the time and effort Amelia has put into the Group over the last six years.
Our new Beaver Scout Leader, Emma, will be starting in the New Year.
