So today we went out on the Thames with Kingston Scouts Canoe Club. This is something we’ve done for the last few years but usually on a weekday evening. This year we went for a Saturday morning and it was much more relaxing.
Twenty Cubs and Scouts (plus two leaders and a dad) went out on the water in kayaks and canoes and had a great time. Mentioning no names but there was at least one Cub who seemed to spend more time in the water than in the kayak! By the end if the session most people were soaked through. Luckily with the recent weather the water was pretty warm, even in the river.
The Cubs took a visit to Surbiton Fire Station last week and ended up getting slightly wet!
On Friday 5th July we took the Scouts climbing at White Spider along with a few of the older Cubs. Great fun was had on both the roped climbs and the bouldering walls.
The Cubs went to White Spider Climbing in May and the feedback was fantastic. Almost all the Cubs and two leaders made it to the ceiling on all their climbs.
On the 19th Dec 2012 we went to Charrington Bowl as a Group. It’s the first Group outing we’ve had in a long time. In all across the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts we had 39 attend, along with around 15 leaders and parents! Although we had two games lined up, only the Scouts managed to complete the games to the two hours we had booked!
This was also the last meeting that Amelia attended as our Beaver Scout Leader so we had a short presentation at the end of the night to say thank you for all the time and effort Amelia has put into the Group over the last six years.
Our new Beaver Scout Leader, Emma, will be starting in the New Year.
Our old website provider decided to change terms and conditions so we’ve had to move to a new platform. We hope you like the new look.
